Encore Youth Theatre is Winchester’s only youth theatre specialising in musical theatre. We offer young people experience in all aspects of theatre production from the audition process through to performing on stage in front of sell-out audiences at the Theatre Royal Winchester.

The company involves theatre professionals (directors, musical directors, technical staff etc.) so that you learn first hand about working within the theatre and is committed to working hard, having fun and ensuring that

you have the opportunity to

• achieve future theatre ambitions
• increase personal development
• develop a new network of friends

whether you want to go on and work in the theatre professionally, perform for fun or just develop new personal skills. You will also

take part in theatre skills workshops, which might include

• stage fighting,
• specialist dance workshops
• technical skills

This means that when not rehearsing, you are still learning new techniques and skills

To join Encore you need to be 12 years old or above. Rehearsals take place every Sunday from September until February. Performances take place at the Theatre Royal Winchester in the February half term.
