Encore Youth Theatre was formed by Ben Wright in 1981 for local young people who shared a love of theatre.

Executive Committee

Encore is now run by an Executive Committee – two Co–Producers, Susan Beckett and Stefanie Radley and Ben's daughter, Artistic Director Noël Jones. The producers have responsibility for the company’s administration and financial management whilst the Artistic Director develops the artistic policy, including future shows and workshops, and is responsible for marketing and PR.

Encore Committee

The Encore Committee is an integral part of the management of the company. The Committee is made up from elected members who represent the whole company. They put their comments and suggestions forward as well as making a contribution to the running of the company and being involved with all aspects of the show. Elections onto the Committee take place annually at the company’s AGM. The Chairperson and the Vice- Chair are appointed by the Chief Executive from the previous year’s committee members.

The Committee works with both the Executive Committee and the Production Team for each show. Each committee member has their own area of responsibility, inc marketing, production, finance etc and works alongside the relevant adult.

Volunteers

The company is also well supported by very committed adult volunteers, mainly parents, who co-ordinate and assist with matroning, front-of-house duties and set building.
