INFORMATION
There are approximately 40-50 members in the company at any one time. To join the company you must be in Year 7 by September when we start our rehearsals. We rehearse every Sunday, and some evenings, until February when we perform at the Theatre Royal Winchester.
STOP PRESS! For 2024/25, we are also looking for ten talented younger members (from years 4-6).
AUDITIONS & PERFORMANCES
On-stage membership to the company is by audition which takes place over a whole weekend, usually in June/July. Performances take place during February half term, avoiding clashes with academic work or exams and allowing members to perform in the evenings and recover the following day. PRODUCTION TEAM
For those interested in the technical aspects of theatre production, we also offer the opportunity for young people to develop skills off-stage. If you love theatre but prefer to shine behind the scenes then this is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic company as part of the Production Team.
Develop your skills in any of the technical areas including: stage management, set design, costume, lighting and sound, working with experienced designers and technicians. By joining the production team you will help to prepare, build and run ENCORE’s current production at the Theatre Royal Winchester in February half term.
To be part of the team you must be aged 14+ and will be invited to an interview with other potential team members. You will need to be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment but don’t worry if you don’t have any previous experience. Very often some of the most talented people may not have had any opportunities to show their ability yet!
If you do have previous experience, please bring examples of any work like costume or set sketches, lighting plans or DSM books etc. This is not a requirement.

COSTS
Membership fees for 2024/2025 are £40 per month (July ‘24 - April ‘25) per person
(£35 per month for each additional sibling) .
Membership includes:
Weekly rehearsals (minimum 96 hours of rehearsals from September - February)
Show week at Theatre Royal Winchester
Four performances
Two free socials a year
Company show t-shirt
Show costumes
Membership can be paid in full. Digital rehearsal materials will be sent in advance which you will need to print and bring to the first rehearsal.
BEHAVIOUR
Our reputation at ENCORE is extremely high and this is largely due to the high standard of professionalism, individual behaviour and self-discipline of our company members. To maintain and build on this reputation it is important that all members understand what is expected of them and so we have a clear set of values and regulations that members are required to sign up to.
