SHOW INFORMATION
From the first notes to the final breath, West Side Story remains one of the most powerful musicals and enduring love stories of all time. Set amid the heat and tension of 1950s New York City, this bold reimagining of Romeo and Juliet follows two star-crossed lovers torn apart by the bitter rivalry between two gangs - the Jets and the Sharks. A searing exploration of love, violence, and prejudice, it remains one of the most innovative and devastating musical dramas ever written.
Arthur Laurents’ book is as raw and relevant today as when it was first created, while the iconic score by Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim is celebrated as one of the greatest in musical theatre history.

You must be available all week.
REHEARSALS
Take place every Sunday and start on Sunday 6th September. Principals will need to be available on Thursday evenings.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership fees for 2026/2027 are £40 per month (July ‘26 - April ‘27) per person (£35 per month for each additional sibling) .
Membership includes:
Weekly rehearsals (minimum 96 hours of rehearsals from September - February)
Show week at Theatre Royal Winchester
At least four performances
Company show t-shirt
Show costumes
Membership can be paid in full. Digital rehearsal materials will be sent in advance which you will need to print and bring to the first rehearsal.
Bursaries are available.
