THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

ENCORE Youth Theatre was formed by Ben Wright in 1981 for local young people who shared a love of theatre. ENCORE is run by a board of directors and a production committee. The directors have responsibility for the company's administration, financial management, marketing and training, whilst the production committee looks after the show rehearsals and performances.

ENCORE COMMITTEE

The ENCORE Committee is an integral part of the management of the company. The Committee is made up from elected members who represent the whole company. They put their comments and suggestions forward as well as making a contribution to the running of the company and being involved with all aspects of the show.

Elections onto the Committee take place annually at the company's AGM. The Chairperson and the Vice- Chair are appointed by the Chief Executive from the previous year's committee members.

The Committee works with both the Executive Committee and the Production Team for each show. Each committee member has their own area of responsibility, including marketing, production, finance etc and works alongside the relevant adult.

VOLUNTEERS

The company is also well supported by very committed adult volunteers, mainly parents, who co-ordinate and assist with matroning, front-of-house duties and set building.

EYT PRODUCTION

If you love the theatre but prefer to shine behind the scenes this is a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic company as part of the Backstage Team.

Develop your skills in any of the technical areas including stage management, technicians, set design, costume, lighting and sound working with experienced designers and technicians and by helping to prepare, build and run ENCORE’s production annual production.

To be part of the team you must be aged 14 + and will be invited to an interview with other potential team members.  You will need to be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment and should, if possible, bring examples of any work like costume or set sketches, lighting plans or DSM books etc, although this is not a requirement.

If you do not posses any experience, don't let that put you off from applying as very often some of the most talented people may not have had any previous opportunities to show their ability yet.  Enthusiasm and commitment count for a lot!
